SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Cornwall
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £90 - £110 per day
Contract: Full-time, term-time, temp-to-perm potential
About the Role:
SEND Inclusion Support are recruiting on behalf of one of our partner schools in Cornwall for dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants. The school supports pupils with PMLD, pre-verbal communication needs, and Autism (ASD). Classes are small—typically around six pupils—allowing for highly individualised support and strong relationships.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with complex SEND needs
*
Support personalised learning plans and sensory-based activities
*
Assist with physical and personal care where required
*
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider staff team
*
Help maintain a safe, calm, and structured learning environment
Requirements:

Experience in SEND settings, particularly PMLD, ASD, or complex communication needs (desirable but not essential)
*
Compassionate, patient, and resilient approach
*
Ability to follow guidance and contribute positively to the classroom environment
*
Willingness to support personal care routines
