Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teacher to join an Enhanced SEND Provision on a temporary, ongoing basis, working with a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class starting in November 2025.Pupils feel safe, valued, and enjoy learning in a diverse and inclusive school. They behave well, support one another, and take pride in their achievements. Staff respond swiftly to any concerns, and pupils benefit from a broad curriculum and engaging clubs that promote kindness, independence, and personal growth.
The class includes pupils with a range of needs — some with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and some who are non-verbal.
Duties as a SEND Teacher:
Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons to support individual learning needs
Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
Support non-verbal students using communication aids, visual supports, and other appropriate strategies
Work closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide consistent support
Monitor, assess, and record progress in line with EHCP targets and school policies
Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and multi-agency professionals
Ideal SEND Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching children with SEND, ideally in an enhanced or specialist provision
Strong understanding of communication and sensory strategies for non-verbal learners
Patience, empathy, and flexibility in supporting individual needs as a SEND Teacher.
