Are you a dedicated and passionate educator with experience in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students who require additional support?
GSL Education are seeking a SEND Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Long Eaton. This role is ideal for a qualified teacher who thrives in specialist settings and is committed to providing high-quality education tailored to individual learning needs.
Key Responsibilities for the SEND Teacher:
Deliver tailored lessons to students with a range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support personalised learning.
Foster a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and families.
Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse needs.
Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as needed.
Uphold high standards of behaviour management and safeguarding practices.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent overseas teaching qualification.
Experience working in SEND or alternative education settings (desirable).
A strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and behaviour support.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for students with additional needs.
Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
