SEND Teaching Assistant / Child Support Worker – Harrogate (Multiple SEND/SEMH Settings)
Milk Education are working in partnership with a number of fantastic Special Needs and SEMH settings across Harogate. These settings support children and young people with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are currently recruiting for passionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants / Child Support Workers to join our team on a full-time, term-time only basis, working Monday to Friday, 08:30am – 3:30pm.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in adult care, health and social care, or support work who are looking to transition into the education sector. The role offers more sociable working hours and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities – SEND Teaching Assistant / Child Support Worker:
* Supporting Class Teachers with lesson delivery and daily classroom activities
* Assisting pupils with personal care, including feeding and changing where required
* Encouraging and promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies
* Supporting children with a range of needs including Autism, Learning Disabilities, and SEMH
* Accompanying pupils on educational visits and community outings
Requirements – Child Support Worker / SEND Teaching Assistant:
* Recent experience working with children or adults with additional needs
* A background in care work, health and social care, or support work is highly desirable
* Comfortable providing personal care as part of your role
* GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
* A calm, patient, and caring personality with a genuine passion for supporting others
