SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent (Term-time only)
Salary: £90-£100 (dependent on experience)

The Education Network is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Leeds to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This role is offered on a temporary to permanent basis, providing an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to secure a long-term position within a supportive and inclusive school environment.
The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will play a vital role in helping pupils to engage with their learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils in accessing lessons and adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in and out of the classroom.
Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents to foster a supportive learning environment.
Assist with personal care where required.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of individualised learning programmes.About You We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about working with children and young people with special educational needs.
Patient, empathetic and resilient.
Able to work effectively as part of a team and use their initiative when required.
Committed to supporting the holistic development of every child.Essential:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in an educational or care setting).
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.Desirable:
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
Experience supporting pupils with autism, SEMH or complex needs.What We Offer
