SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham (B75)
Daily Rate: £105 - £115 per day
Contract: Long term, Long Term to Permanent
Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
Commutable from: Erdington, Four Oaks, Boldmere, Walmley, Minworth, Castle Vale, Kingstanding, Perry Barr, Great Barr, Tamworth
We are looking for a caring, dedicated and proactive individual to join a warm and inclusive primary school in Sutton Coldfield as a SEND Teaching Assistant. This rewarding role will focus on 1:1 and small group support, helping children with special educational needs to achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.
Your Day-to-Day:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND needs
Adapt learning activities to suit individual abilities and emotional needs.
Support pupils with emotional regulation, social skills and independence throughout the school day.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and outside professionals to implement personalised strategies and EHCP targets.
Help maintain a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment.
Encourage pupils to develop confidence, communication and resilience through praise and positive reinforcement.
Monitor and record progress and share achievements with teachers and parents.About You
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND or learning difficulties (in school, childcare or youth settings).
Patient, compassionate and calm individual with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Confident supporting children with autism, speech and language needs or social, emotional and mental health challenges.
Preferably hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
