SEND Teaching Assistant – Birmingham

Location: Birmingham (B1–B38 & surrounding areas)
 Type: Full-Time
 Salary: £88–£95 per day (depending on experience and/or qualifications)
 Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing

The School and Role

ABC Teachers are recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support a range of SEND and mainstream schools across Birmingham, including provisions for SLD, PMLD, ASC, MLD and SEMH.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with diverse additional needs. You will help adapt lessons, provide 1:1 or small-group support, promote positive behaviour and assist with communication, sensory needs and personal development.

You will be part of a highly supportive school team focused on creating a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil is able to succeed.

The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant Will Have:

At least 6 months’ experience supporting children or young people with SEND (or personal experience of SEND support)

A calm, patient and proactive approach

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

A willingness to learn and develop within a school setting

A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

We welcome applicants from backgrounds such as care work, youth work, residential settings, psychology graduates and mentoring roles.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant with ABC Teachers, You Will Receive:
