About the Role
An inclusive primary school in Stockport is looking for a resilient, compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about mentoring children who face emotional and behavioral challenges, helping them build confidence and engage with the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 emotional and academic support to assigned pupils throughout the school day.
Implement positive behavior management techniques and foster emotional regulation.
Work collaboratively with the pastoral team, SENCO, and outside agencies.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: At least 1 year of experience working with children exhibiting SEMH needs, challenging behaviors, or trauma-impacted backgrounds.
DBS Check: Enhanced Child Workforce DBS with Children's Barred List check (must be on the Update Service or processed prior to start date).
Training & Certification: Team Teach, Price, or equivalent crisis intervention/de-escalation certification is highly desirable.
