KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant - Full Academic Year - Islington Primary School
Start Date: 1st September 2025
Contract: Until July 2026
Pay: £95-£102 per day (with a pay rise after 12 weeks)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 3:30pm
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Islington is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September for the full academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with SEND needs, particularly within KS2. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping children access the curriculum, build confidence, and thrive both academically and socially.
As a KS2 SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support individual and small groups of pupils with SEND needs in KS2
Implement EHCP strategies and provide tailored support in and out of the classroom
Promote positive behaviour, manage challenges calmly, and encourage pupil independence
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor and report on pupil progress
Bring a proactive attitude and contribute positively to school life
The ideal Teaching Assistant will:
Have proven experience supporting pupils with SEND, especially within KS2
Be confident in managing behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement
Show empathy, resilience, and a solution-focused mindset
Be committed to making a long-term impact in a SEND support role
