Our trusted partner, a welcoming and inclusive girls' secondary school in Lewisham, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistant to join their team in September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to support students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
About the Role:
Supporting students with SEND in a 1:1 or small group capacity
Working closely with teaching staff to deliver differentiated and accessible learning
Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and social development
Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
Collaborating with SENCOs, therapists, and parents/carers
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND (in school or care settings)
A patient, empathetic, and positive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to changing needs
A genuine interest in education and supporting young women to achieve their full potential
Desirable (but not essential):
Knowledge of strategies for supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and speech/language needs
Experience using communication tools such as PECS or Makaton
A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Psychology degree)
