Job Description
SEND Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support - Haringey Primary School
Location: Haringey
Start Date: 1st September 2025 - July 2026
Pay: £100-£105 per day (PAYE)
A wonderful, inclusive primary school in Haringey is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a long-term full-time role supporting a child in Year 1 on a one-to-one basis.
The school is committed to providing a nurturing and structured learning environment for all pupils. They are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and skilled individual with restraint training and strong behaviour management experience to support a pupil with significant additional needs.
Please note: Candidates must have valid restraint training (e.g., Team Teach, PRICE, MAPA, or equivalent) to be considered for this role. Unfortunately, applications without this certification cannot be progressed.
Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child in Year 1 with additional learning and behavioural needs.
Implement strategies to support emotional regulation, manage behaviour proactively, and encourage engagement in learning activities.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to adapt learning materials and interventions to suit the child's needs.
Promote the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development in line with their EHCP.
Monitor and record progress, and contribute to review meetings as needed.
Maintain a calm, consistent, and nurturing presence in the classroom and around school.
