GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and supportive school in Worthing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with SEND while developing their skills in a nurturing environment.
About the Role: As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll provide essential support to children with a range of special educational needs and disabilities. You'll work closely with teachers and specialists to ensure every child receives the individual attention they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted support to children with SEND, including autism, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities
Implement individualized education plans and therapeutic interventions
Support children with personal care needs and mobility requirements
Use specialist equipment and resources to aid learning and development
Monitor and record pupil progress, sharing observations with the teaching team
Create a safe, inclusive environment where all children can thrive
Job Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in educational, healthcare, or community settings)
Understanding of various SEND conditions and appropriate support strategies
Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with vulnerable children
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
