Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child's life?
Academics are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Huddersfield to recruit a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Global Developmental Delay (GDD) and mobility difficulties. This is a full-time position, ideal for someone who is patient, nurturing, and passionate about inclusive education.
About the Role:
Supporting a child on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day
Assisting with learning activities tailored to their developmental level
Providing personal care and mobility assistance when required
Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets
Creating a safe, engaging, and positive learning environmentThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience supporting children with SEND
Knowledge of child development and personalised learning strategies
A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
Experience with mobility aids or willingness to receive training
A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) is desirable
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)Why Join Academics?
