Job Description
SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary (ASD Support)
Location: Oswestry
Start Date: 20th October 2025
Contract: Until July 2026 (end of academic year)

We’re looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) on a long-term placement.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is patient, caring, and committed to helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.
What you’ll be doing:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with ASD
* Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment
* Encouraging independence and celebrating every child’s achievements
* Supporting with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction
What we’re looking for:
* Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally ASD (school or care setting)
* A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed
* Flexibility, patience, and resilience
* A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
