SEND Primary Teaching Assistant
Sheffield, S36
£100 per day
Start date: ASAP
Contract type: Temp - perm
Working hours: Monday – Friday, (term time only) 8.30- 3.30
Unique School Solutions are supporting a wonderful primary school in the S36 area of Sheffield, to recruit a specialist Teaching Assistant to work within a newly founded specialist learning environment within the school. The unit supports primary aged pupils with special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD and speech and language difficulties.
Although initially these roles will be long-term temporary, there is the opportunity for a permanent contract for the right candidate with the school following a successful probation period.

The role:
* Working with primary aged children with SEND as required under the instruction and guidance of the class teacher
* Ensuring the safety of children
* Planning and preparing resources and activities
* Working with small groups of children
* Working with children with SEND
Essential requirements for the role:
* Previous and recent experience working with SEND children in a school environment
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* Ability to use own initiative
* The ability to build rapport with young learners
* Positive classroom management in line with school policies
* The ability to use own initiative and work with other support staff
* The ability to support small groups with learning
