SEND Team Manager (Assessment Hub Lead – EHCNA) Permanent Position | Salary: £44,246 - £50,076 per annum Hybrid Working | Office Attendance Required 3 Days per Week | Kent We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Team Manager (Assessment Hub Lead – EHCNA) to join our high-performing SEND service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. As Team Manager, you will lead and support the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) team, ensuring statutory processes are delivered within timescales and that high-quality Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) are produced in line with the SEND Code of Practice and organisational values. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the EHCNA process, ensuring statutory 20-week deadlines are consistently met. Provide leadership, supervision, and quality assurance for the EHCNA team. Champion the SEND case management system, ensuring accurate and timely record keeping. Chair key decision-making panels, including Decision to Assess and Decision to Issue. Work collaboratively with families, schools, and multi-agency partners to ensure child-centred and inclusive practices. Ensure EHCPs reflect best practice, are outcome-focused, and place children and young people at the heart of all decisions. Lead on staff development, identifying training needs and supporting professional growth. Promote effective use of resources and transparent decision-making in line with processes and budgets.About You: Strong knowledge of the statutory SEND assessment process and what makes a high-quality EHCP. Proven experience managing staff within SEND services or a related local authority function. In-depth understanding of the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and relevant legislation. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills. A collaborative, child-centred, and outcome-driven approach. Experience of ensuring effective team performance in line with policies and procedures.Requirements: Local Authority experience is essential.
