SENDCO – Medway (SEMH Focus)

Supply Desk are proud to be working with a highly supportive SEND school in Medway that are seeking a qualified and experienced SENDCO to join their team on a long-term, full-time basis, starting from September 2025 or earlier. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
About the Role:
This position is non-class based and ideal for a SEND professional who is confident managing and overseeing the SEND provision across the school, with a particular emphasis on SEMH. You will be responsible for coordinating EHCPs, liaising with external agencies, supporting teaching staff, and ensuring best practices for student support. You’ll play a key strategic and operational role in improving outcomes for pupils with SEMH needs.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold a SENDCO qualification (mandatory).
Have experience working with SEMH students, and a strong understanding of their needs and the support strategies that help them thrive.
Be familiar and confident with SEND paperwork and compliance, including EHCPs, annual reviews, and referrals.
Demonstrate strong leadership and excellent communication skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
Be based in Medway or able to travel easily to the area.
Have a solid understanding of current SEND legislation and policies.
Be proactive, organised, and passionate about inclusion and pupil well-being.
