Lead and manage SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice
Identify and assess students with SEND and develop individual education plans (IEPs)
Provide guidance and training to staff on SEND strategies and differentiation
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals, including educational psychologists and therapists
Monitor and track progress of SEND students and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions
Manage SEND resources and support staff deployment
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and maintain accurate records
Support safeguarding and pastoral care systems for vulnerable students
Contribute to leadership meetings and whole-school development planning
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Recognised SENDCo qualification (e.g., National Award for SEND Coordination)
Experience working with children with SEND
Strong understanding of SEND legislation and guidance
Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to support and inspire staff in inclusive teaching practices
