TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing accountancy practice in the KT area that is looking to recruit a Part-Qualified or Newly Qualified Accountant to join its team.

The Role

As a Part-Qualified / Newly Qualified Accountant, you will manage a mixed portfolio of clients and work closely with senior members of the team across accounts, tax and advisory assignments.

This is a broad role offering excellent client exposure and the opportunity to continue developing your technical and commercial skills within a supportive practice environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under FRS 105 and FRS 102 1A

Managing a mixed portfolio of clients across a variety of industries

Supporting with corporation tax compliance and related client queries

Assisting clients with cloud accounting software and finance-related matters

Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including exposure to partial exemption calculations under guidance from the tax department

Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships

Supporting senior team members with ad-hoc advisory and compliance work

Managing deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently

Working collaboratively across the wider practice team

RequirementsThe Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will likely have:

ACA or ACCA part-qualified, or newly qualified

Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice environment

Strong organisational and portfolio management skills

Experience preparing accounts for a range of clients and industries

Good knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero

Experience using CaseWare would be advantageous

Familiarity with TaxCalc would also be beneficial

Some VAT knowledge, including exposure to VAT calculations and compliance work

Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients

A proactive and professional approach with strong attention to detail
