Senior / Principal Acoustic Consultant - Infrastructure Projects
Location: Leeds
Full-Time | Hybrid (Primarily office-based in Leeds)

Penguin Recruitment is excited to be hiring on behalf of a leading UK environmental consultancy for a Senior or Principal Acoustic Consultant to join their growing infrastructure team in Leeds.
The Role
Based in Leeds, this role involves delivering high-quality acoustic assessments for nationally significant infrastructure projects including DCOs, EIAs, and complex multi-disciplinary planning submissions across road, rail, and airport sectors.
You will:
Lead or support noise modelling, assessment, and reporting
Contribute to planning strategies and stakeholder engagement
Mentor junior staff and collaborate with technical teams
Help shape noise frameworks for major UK infrastructure schemes
What We're Looking For
We welcome applicants with a background in environmental acoustics, particularly those with experience in infrastructure projects. You'll ideally bring:
Strong acoustic modelling and data interpretation skills
Experience with road, rail, or airport schemes
Excellent written and verbal communication
Knowledge of UK noise regulations
A proactive, detail-oriented approach
A full UK driving licence is desirable
Postgraduate qualifications or chartership are a plus, but not essential.
