Senior Acoustic Consultant
Bristol £45,000-£55,000 DOE

Penguin Recruitment is partnering with a leading environmental and acoustic practice to appoint a Senior Acoustic Consultant. This is a chance to lead high-profile work with a team that backs new ideas, collaboration and personal growth.
The Role
You will steer complex, multi-sector projects - education, healthcare, residential, commercial, performing arts - from first principles to handover. Combining rigour and creativity, you will deliver robust, sustainable acoustic solutions and play a visible role in shaping delivery, tools and people.
What you will do
Lead and manage building acoustics projects end-to-end
Produce technically excellent design aligned to current standards
Present findings clearly to clients and non-specialists
Carry out site testing (sound insulation, vibration)
Use CATT, Odeon, INSUL, Cadna/A, Revit and related tools
Integrate acoustics with wider design (BIM, product R&D, process improvement)
Mentor junior team members
About you
Must have
Strong track record in building acoustics delivery
Confident communicator to technical and non-technical audiences
Hands-on experience in sound insulation / construction acoustics
Competence with CATT, Odeon, INSUL, Cadna/A, Revit
Collaborative and people-centred working style
Nice to have
Environmental acoustics experience
Interest in sustainable/low-carbon design
