Senior Asset Surveyor - Social Housing Location: Hertfordshire Salary: £58,000 per annum Contract: Permanent We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Asset Surveyor to join a respected housing organisation in Hertfordshire on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified and motivated professional to play a key role in managing housing assets, improving stock condition, and driving long-term investment strategies. As Senior Asset Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering asset management programmes, conducting condition surveys, and supporting capital investment planning across the organisation's housing portfolio. You will provide technical advice, manage contractors, and ensure the effective use of data to inform property maintenance and investment decisions. Key responsibilities include: Carrying out detailed stock condition surveys and inspections across the housing portfolio Leading on the delivery of planned maintenance and asset management programmes Managing and analysing asset data to support long-term investment planning Identifying properties requiring repairs, component replacement, or improvement works Providing professional technical advice on building pathology, condition, and performance Supporting the preparation and delivery of the organisation's asset management strategy Managing contractors and consultants to ensure high-quality delivery and value for money Preparing reports and recommendations for capital investment, maintenance, and compliance Ensuring all works comply with relevant legislation, health & safety standards, and housing regulations Liaising with residents, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and positive outcomes Requirements: Proven experience as an Asset Surveyor or Senior Surveyor within social housing or property management Strong understanding of building pathology, stock condition surveying, and asset data management Experience managing contractors and planned maintenance programmes Knowledge of compliance, health & safety, and housing standards Ability to analyse property data and make evidence-based investment recommendations Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Building Surveying or a related field preferred RICS or CIOB membership desirable Full UK driving licence What's on offer: £58,000 per annum (permanent role) Long-term career development with a respected housing provider Opportunity to take ownership of strategic asset management projects Supportive working environment with a focus on professional growth Why apply: This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Senior Asset Surveyor with social housing experience to join a progressive organisation and help shape the future of its property portfolio.
