Senior Authorised Engineer

The Role of the Senior Authorised Engineer

They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Authorised Engineer to take ownership of all electrical systems within their Water operations. This new role offers a unique opportunity to lead, influence, and drive safety standards across their MEICA operations. As a delegated authority Electrical Duty Holder, you will ensure compliance with statutory regulations, oversee high-voltage systems, and promote a culture of safety.

Responsibilities of the Senior Authorised Engineer

Own and lead all electrical safety responsibilities across Water Resources & Production.
Manage health and safety risks related to high-voltage systems. 
Line-manage a team of three technical experts in mechanical and electrical engineering, providing guidance and development. 
Monitor and manage electrical risks, from quick fixes to major investments. 
Maintain and update the Electrical Safety Rule Book and competency frameworks. 
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to uphold best-in-class safety standards. 

Requirements of the Senior Authorised Engineer

Chartered Engineer status or MIECA membership. 
Extensive experience managing HV and LV systems in industrial environments. 
Strong leadership and coaching skills. 
Proven ability to manage electrical safety and compliance. 
Excellent risk management and stakeholder engagement skills.
