Day Rate: £450–£550 per day (Dependent on Experience)
About the Project
ITS Construction is supporting a global energy and industrial group in delivering a major Energy from Waste (EfW) facility in Ellesmere Port. The project represents a significant investment in clean energy infrastructure and is now entering a critical delivery and commissioning phase requiring expert site supervision and safety management.
Role Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to oversee and manage safe systems of work on site, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, electrical safety, and permit systems. You will act as the key point of contact for all electrical safety matters, ensuring strict compliance with site rules and legislation, and enabling safe commissioning and energisation of HV equipment up to 66kV.
Key Responsibilities

Interpret and apply technical drawings such as P&IDs, electrical one-line and multiline diagrams
*
Lead the implementation of safe working practices, identifying hazards and recommending improvements
*
Oversee and coordinate all LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) operations across site
*
Issue and manage all types of work permits, including confined space, hot work, and electrical access
*
Act as client representative for all protective measures prior to permit authorisation
*
Control and issue tag and lock systems to all site personnel, maintaining full records
*
Log daily reports on open/closed permits, lock status, and active work scopes
*
Provide timely and accurate safety updates to Lead Engineers, Commissioning Managers, and the Head of Commissioning
Requirements
*
Minimum 3 years’ experience in HSE & LOTO systems in the power generation sector
*
HND/HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
*
Authorisation to operate up to 66kV
*
NEBOSH, IOSH, or SMSTS certification (preferred)
*
In-depth understanding of electrical systems, isolation procedures, and permit regimes
*
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams and disciplines
*
A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a high level of personal accountability
*
