Job Description

Proven experience purchasing electronic components and managing strategic suppliers within an electronics manufacturing environment.

A leading electronics manufacturing organisation are currently recruiting for a Senior Commodity Buyer on a full-time, permanent basis in Pulborough, West Sussex.

Role - Senior Buyer
 Type - Permanent
 Location - Pulborough, West Sussex
 Salary - £45,000 - £50,000 + benefits

Key responsibilities for the Senior Commodity Buyer will include and will not be limited to:

Manage end to end procurement for assigned commodities including quotation, negotiation, PO and contract placement, and order management
Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, lead times, payment terms, and long-term supply agreements
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and quality performance
Drive supplier performance through reviews, KPIs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
Work closely with planning to convert MRP demand into an effective supply plan, managing shortages and delivery risks
Lead cost reduction initiatives and value engineering activities across allocated commodities
Maintain accurate purchasing data including pricing, lead times, and supplier information within the ERP system 

Key skills and experience required for Senior Commodity Buyer job applicant and will not be limited to:

Strong understanding of ERP and MRP within a manufacturing environment
Proven experience buying electronic components, PCBAs, and electro mechanical products
Strong negotiation skills with solid commercial awareness
Experience delivering cost reduction and supplier improvement projects
Understanding of supplier quality processes and engineering change management
Strong Excel and Microsoft Office capability with confidence analysing data and reporting
CIPS qualification level 4 or above is desirable
