Senior Buyer
£40,000 – £50,000
On-site – Deeside, Cheshire.
About the role
We’re hiring a Senior Buyer to take full ownership of all procurement activity—direct and indirect—across our manufacturing operations. You’ll be responsible for supplier management, cost control, quality assurance, and strategic sourcing. This is a hands-on role where you'll influence both daily decisions and long-term direction.
What you’ll be doing
*
Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure best value
*
Manage all procurement processes, from purchasing materials to indirect spend
*
Monitor supplier performance with clear KPIs
*
Work closely with Engineering, Design, and Production teams
*
Control inventory levels to support production without overstocking
*
Lead supplier audits and relationship management
*
Ensure all procurement aligns with company standards and terms
*
Constantly look for cost-saving and quality improvement opportunities
What we’re looking for
*
Strong background in operational procurement within manufacturing
*
Proven experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance
*
Comfortable leading change and working across departments
*
High-level education and ideally CIPS qualified
*
Skilled in sourcing strategy and supply chain risk management
*
Excellent communicator and confident decision-maker
*
Hands-on, proactive, and commercially focused
Working hours
*
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
*
On-site in state-of-the-art facilities
