Must Have’s
* Previous experience within buying, category strategy, pricing, promotions, and supplier negotiations
* Strong commercial acumen with FMCG or foodservice product knowledge
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proficient in Excel and data reporting
* Experience with range planning, SKU rationalisation, and managing the product lifecycle
* An understanding of product allergens, nutritional information, and government food legislation
* Proven experience with category P&L - sales, margin, and income
Nice to have’s
* Experience in the foodservice sector or similar industry
* Working knowledge of Power BI or equivalent tools
* Understanding of food legislation (e.g. HFSS, allergens, Sugar Tax)
* CIPS qualification or similar
* Management or process improvement experience
* Experience developing supplier marketing campaigns with internal marketing teams
So what will you be doing?
* Leading a defined category end-to-end - from range and pricing to margin and supplier income
* Creating and delivering the category strategy, aligned to business goals
* Forecasting and reporting on category performance and supplier income
* Managing stock value, promotional planning, and supplier count
* Collaborating with marketing, sales, and supply chain teams
* Running category projects and initiatives, delivering on time and in full
* Presenting regularly to internal and external stakeholders, including SLT
* Acting as a commercial champion for your category - internally and externally
