Senior C&I Design Engineer
Location: Warrington, Cheshire
Hours: 40 per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days from home, Monday–Friday)
Rate: £55.00 – £65.00 per hour (Umbrella PAYE, inside IR35 only)
Duration: 12 months + (ongoing very likely)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Control & Instrumentation Design Engineer to join our team, supporting Gas projects. This role involves delivering high-quality C&I engineering and design solutions across the full project lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Produce C&I design deliverables within single and multi-discipline engineering projects.
Support the Lead Engineer in delivering designs on time, to budget, and to the required quality.
Ensure designs are coordinated with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process, and Automation).
Participate in internal and external design reviews, presenting designs to the Lead Engineer and stakeholders.
Provide input and support to construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
Manage C&I engineering on individual projects or a portfolio of projects, depending on scope and complexity.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a C&I Engineer within engineering, EPCM, or EPC projects.
Strong knowledge of C&I engineering and design, with a good understanding of related disciplines.
Experience in both Electrical and Instrumentation design.
Proficiency with design tools such as AMTECH, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
Degree (BEng/MEng/MSc) in C&I Engineering or a related discipline.
Good understanding of current British and International Standards.
Experience in the energy, utilities, or gas sector preferred.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
