Adecco are pleased to be recruiting for a Senior Category Manager to work with Devon & Cornwall Police Force Contract: Temporary Location: South West (Hybrid) Hourly Rate: £22.23 per hour Working Pattern: Full Time 37 hours per week Monday to Friday - Hybrid Working requested to attend meetings as required **PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS SUBJECT TO POLICE VETTING, YOU MUST HAVE BEEN LIVING WITHIN THE UK FOR A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS** Are you an experienced procurement professional ready to make a significant impact in the public services sector? Our client is seeking a dynamic Senior Category Manager to lead their procurement efforts within the South West Police Procurement Department (SWPPD). Key Responsibilities: As the Senior Category Manager, you will be at the forefront of managing and delivering successful procurement strategies in key sub-categories. Your expertise will guide the team in tackling complex, high-value procurements, and your ability to engage with stakeholders will be paramount. Here's what you'll be doing: SWPPD Development and Management: - Actively engage with regional and national groups for specific categories of spend. - Lead and manage a team of Category Buyers, fostering their professional growth. Category Strategy: - analyse key supply market drivers and trends to inform strategy. - Collaborate with senior stakeholders to secure buy-in for recommendations. - Deliver best value through effective strategic sourcing. Category Sourcing: - Lead high-risk procurements, ensuring compliance with regulations. - Develop user specifications and manage the implementation of new contracts. Category Management: - Measure supplier performance and drive continuous improvement. - Build strong operational relationships with key suppliers to maximise value. What We're Looking For: To succeed in this role, you'll need to meet the following criteria: Graduate Level CIPS qualification (MCIPS) or equivalent commercial experience. Proven track record in business requirements and supply market analysis. Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively. Financial acumen and sound knowledge of public procurement law. Excellent IT skills and ability to work under pressure.
