Who will you be working for?
Join this fantastic Ofsted regulated 4 Bedded EBD home in Redditch! This organisation is a therapeutically informed provider of children’s residential care with two operational homes in the West Midlands area and have plans to organically expand.
You would be responsible for leading shifts and supporting up to four children that display social, emotional and mental health difficulties, challenging behaviours, autism, ADHD, and past trauma. The current children are all engaging with full-time education and are working towards their own key goals. The company are very big on progression and internal development and would be keen for the successful candidate to work towards their Level 5 in Leadership and Management, if they want to.
The Package & Benefits:
* Basic pay: up to £27,150 + £55 per sleep-in, netting you up to £34,960 p/a (based on 9-11 sleeps p/m)
* Additional bonus package: Up to £1830 available in additional bonuses / benefits, including your birthday off & paid, a probationary completion bonus, 100% attendance bonus (paid in December), Employee of the Month (voted by the team), and Ofsted related bonuses!
* Enhanced Overtime: up to £18.32 p/h (with opportunities)
* Paid on-call: Complete one paid on-call weekend day per month for £40 – enhanced OT rate payable if needed to cover
* Travel Allowance: For those travelling 10 miles or more to work, get access to a £60 p/m allowance, totalling £720 p/a.-

What Will The Role Entail?
As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will be the backbone of the staff team whilst on shift. You will pull from your experience working in children’s homes to manage and lead your passionate team to ensure smooth operation of the home and second-to-none delivery of care for young people.
The Successful Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker Candidate Will Excel At:
* Communicating effectively with young people, your colleagues, families, and external professionals. Shift-leading, problem-solving, and being calm under pressure is vital for a Senior.
* Key-working with young people, considering their thoughts, wishes, and feelings, promoting life skills and independence, encouraging them to engage in education, activities, and hobbies. Most importantly, readying them for adult life when they leave care.
* Developing and reviewing Ofsted required paperwork such as care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments, to name a few.
* Following Ofsted’s regulations related to Quality Standards and understanding safeguarding policies and procedures.
* Understanding the operations of the home regarding Health and Safety, medication administration, cleanliness and finances.
Requirements for the Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker role:
* 18+ months’ experience working specifically within a children’s home environment
* Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* Full UK Manual Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
* Flexibility to carry out the shift pattern described at the top of the advert, including sleep-ins
* A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and healthy development of young people
