Job Description
My client, an independent, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Senior Civil and Structural Technician to join their experienced team of drainage and highways engineers, based near the lively city of Swansea, located on the beautiful Gower Peninsula.
Essential Criteria:
Extensive industry experience within a consultancy-based role
Experience of having line managed a team of CAD Technicians
Good working knowledge of drafting standards, within the industry
Demonstrable experience of having worked with steel, concrete, masonry, and timber
Experience of drafting underground drainage, SuDS, and highways applications, with reference to the relevant Section Agreements (i.e., S104, S38, S278, etc.)
Excellent proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, Revit
Outstanding IT skills, including in the Microsoft Office package
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicleIt would also benefit applicants for the role of Senior Civil and Structural Technician to possess the following skills:
- Knowledge of NavisWorks/WalkInside
- Experience with the Microsoft Sharepoint system
- Familiarity with the local region
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent time management
In the varied role of Senior Civil and Structural Technician, you will join a dedicated team of experts in the field, with a view to developing your career and working to attain a professional qualification. The role will involve a number of exciting responsibilities, including:
Working to lead the team in detailing and modelling an array of building structures projects
Liaising with a range of engineers to ensure accurate drawing representation
Mentoring junior team members in their development throughout their respective careers
Producing steel and concrete layout drawings
Working to provide reinforcement detailing and scheduling
