Senior Civil Aviation Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Civil Engineer with expertise in Transport Engineering to join a growing Aviation team. The successful candidate will contribute to a range of airport and transport infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, and further afield. This role will be primarily based in Dublin, with strong collaboration links to colleagues in London and Europe.
Key Responsibilities
·Take a leading role in the immediate delivery of a major Design & Build project.
·Support the planning, design, and execution of aviation and broader transport infrastructure schemes, including potential involvement in road, rail, and port developments.
·Provide technical input across outline and detailed design stages, ensuring project outputs meet regulatory and client requirements.
·Prepare and review technical specifications, engineering reports, design details, and Bills of Quantities.
·Carry out basic structural assessments to inform design decisions.
·Lead the coordination and integration of civil infrastructure such as drainage, ducting, and water supply systems.
·Develop and review pavement designs for airside and landside access roads.
·Ensure compliance with Irish and UK standards, as well as relevant international guidelines where applicable.
·Contribute to business development through technical input into tenders, proposals, and client engagement activities.
Requirements
·Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
·Chartered Engineer status (e.g., CEng MIEI or equivalent).
·At least six years of professional experience within design and consultancy environments.
·Strong understanding of Irish and/or UK transport infrastructure regulations and standards.
·Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across multiple regions.
·Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
·Willingness to attend meetings, site visits, and industry events in Ireland and the UK.
·Flexibility to undertake occasional short business trips.
Desirable Skills & Experience
·Master's degree in Airport Planning, Transport Engineering, or related discipline.
·Proven track record on airport infrastructure schemes, ideally with experience as a technical lead.
·Familiarity with Dublin or Cork Airport projects would be highly advantageous.
·Knowledge of international airport standards (ICAO, CAA, FAA, DIO, etc.).
·Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant civil engineering software.
·Experience collaborating with international teams, particularly within Spanish-speaking environments.
·Spanish language skills would be an asset.
