Senior Civil Engineer

Hitchin

£54k-£58k plus benefits

With a growing workload across multiple sectors and a strong pipeline of secured schemes, our client is seeking an experienced and driven Civil Engineer to play a pivotal role in the delivery of both live and upcoming projects.

The portfolio spans residential developments typically ranging from 20 to 150 units, automotive dealership schemes with complex external works, levels and drainage requirements, care home developments, and highways works including Section 278 and associated applications. This is a broad and technically engaging workload offering genuine variety and responsibility.

The successful candidate will bring around eight or more years of post-graduate experience, with a proven track record in the design of drainage networks, including Section 104 and 106 submissions where applicable, alongside the development of robust site-wide levels strategies. Strong capability in cut and fill analysis and earthworks optimisation is essential. Confidence in liaising with Local Authorities, Highway Authorities and statutory undertakers is expected, as is the ability to represent the practice in client meetings and wider project discussions. Chartered status, or active progress towards it, is highly desirable.

The position is office-based and offers the chance to take real ownership of projects within a collaborative, design-led practice. Our client is keen to hear from technically strong, commercially astute engineers who are motivated to make a lasting impact.
