Job Description
Our client, a leading consultancy in the buildings sector, is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team on a long-term contract basis. This role is inside IR35 and focuses on a range of civil engineering design services, particularly in drainage solutions for building projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading the design and development of drainage systems for building projects
Preparing comprehensive drainage strategy reports and flood risk assessments
Utilising design software such as Causeway Flow, Info Drainage, AutoCAD, Civils 3D, and QGIS to develop accurate designs
Collaborating with clients and other stakeholders, ensuring excellent communication and client-facing skills
Preparing and delivering detailed technical reports and design documentation
Working on Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) strategies
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including S106 and S278 agreements
Supervising and mentoring junior engineers and technicians as needed
Job Requirements:
Extensive experience in drainage design, with road design being an advantage
Strong report writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients
Proficiency in various design software, including REVIT (awareness), AutoCAD, and Civils 3D
Experience in below ground drainage design and SuDS strategies
Understanding of S106 and S278 agreements and their implementation
Experience in Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategy reports
Chartered status or working towards chartership (MICE)
Accredited degree in Civil Engineering
Ambitious and motivated individual with a desire to move into a managerial position
