Job Opportunity: Senior Colour Designer – London 🌟
Location: London
Contract: 12-month contract
Pay Rate: £42.50 per hour (including London weighting)
Travel: Ability to travel across the UK and Europe approximately once every two months (around 3 days per trip)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly creative Senior Colour Designer to join a leading automotive design studio based in London. This role offers the opportunity to influence the colour and material direction of future vehicle programmes while working within an innovative, global design environment.
The successful candidate will bring a strong blend of creativity, technical understanding, and project leadership, taking ownership of key colour design projects from early concept through to final release.
Key Responsibilities
🎨 Creative Design & Concept Development
Research, create, and present modern, innovative colour and material proposals.
Develop design themes that align closely with project briefs and brand direction.
Use advanced design tools to produce high-quality visual presentations.
Collaborate with suppliers to explore and propose new materials and finishes, ensuring feasibility and cost alignment.
Communicate ideas effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.📁 Project Leadership & Delivery
Independently lead specific colour design projects from exploratory phases to final sign-off.
Participate in project planning discussions, ensuring clarity of design direction and timing.
Produce and manage timing plans, maintaining alignment with cost and material targets.
Provide peer mentoring to support creativity and efficiency across the design team.
Foster strong communication flow with all relevant business partners throughout each project.Skills & Attributes

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Art & Design.
Technical understanding of material manufacturing processes.
Previous experience within the automotive industry is essential.
Strong awareness of current and emerging automotive colour and material trends.
