Job Description

I am currently representing Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate of which is negotiable dependent upon experience. We are looking for a Senior Commissioning Officer which will be based at: Floor 2, Bcp Civic Centre, BH2 6DY FLEXIBLE / HYBRID WORKING AVAILABLE Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of commissioning plans to deliver the Council's strategic and operational direction for children and young people, with a special focus on Short Breaks for children with SEND and Advocacy and Independent Visiting service for children and young people. To develop a project plan leading to the development of the BCP Advocacy and Short Break Service for children and young people, including a full tender exercise. The postholder will be expected to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and value for money are kept at the forefront of any work undertaken. The post holder will be expected to work in a cooperative and co-productive manor when considering the commissioning techniques to be adopted, and whole system change to ensure outcomes are achieved in collaboration. Key Responsibilities • Contribute to the joint commissioning agenda to improve delivery and outcomes of commissioned services with a focus on the development and commissioning of the Short Breaks provision. • The overhaul of the Advocacy and Independent Visitor service, at pace, including a full retender of the service, including project management of the programme. • Provide reports on the progress of the Short Breaks retender at senior board level. • Support the co- development of the Advocacy and Independent Visitor service offer for BCP children and young people.
