About the Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture of complex data systems. You'll collaborate across engineering and data science teams to deliver high-performance solutions using distributed technologies, modern development practices, and Gen AI tools to accelerate innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build scalable Spark jobs and asynchronous, low-latency APIs.
Develop and maintain complex ETL workflows using tools like Airflow and Luigi.
Apply Gen AI tools to enhance development speed and code quality.
Support machine learning model deployment in production environments.
Work with distributed systems and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP).
Apply best practices in software engineering including TDD, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
Collaborate in Agile teams and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
Preferred Experience
Strong commercial experience with Scala and Java (Python a plus).
Expertise in Spark, Hadoop, and AWS (especially S3).
Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Cassandra).
Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and orchestration tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible).
Familiarity with monitoring tools (ELK stack).
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed computing.
