Job Description

Senior Data Engineer – Azure/Databricks 
£70,000 + bonus 
Hybrid Working – 1 day on-site per week
East Midlands based

I'm working with a business that's continuing to invest in its Azure data platform and is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help shape and develop its modern data estate.

You'll play a key role in designing and building scalable Azure data solutions, developing robust data pipelines, and supporting a growing analytics platform. Working across Azure Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL, you'll help deliver reliable, secure and high-performing data solutions while collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders. This is an opportunity to work with modern Azure technologies in a business that values innovation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities:

Design and develop scalable Azure data pipelines and ETL solutions
Build and optimise Azure-based data warehouses and data lakes
Improve platform performance, reliability and scalability
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver data solutions
Support data governance, security and best practice across the platform
Contribute to the continuous evolution of the Azure data platform

Key experience:

Azure Databricks
Azure Data Factory
Azure Synapse Analytics
Azure Data Lake Storage
Advanced SQL and Python
CI/CD with Azure DevOps
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
