Job Description
Our clients, based close to Portsmouth are currently recruiting a Senior Design Engineer in the product department, working on the design and development of new and existing products, from concept through to product launch. This is an opportunity to work within a skilled team in New Product Design and Development, influencing the design and launch of new products to our client’s portfolio, whilst cross functionally integrating with tooling and manufacturing departments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duty of the successful candidate would be to contribute to the design and development of our clients’ electromechanical products, whilst meeting project deadlines and department KPI’s.
The following points are examples of roles and duties within the team:
• Produce 3D CAD designs and technical drawings for manufacturing and customers.
• Design work for the development of new product ideas; developing concepts through to full manufacture and launch.
• Provide technical support to other departments.
• Adhere to Global Engineering and industry standards.
• Be able to manage a cross functional team/FMEA process to identify problems during new product development or when quality concerns arise.
• Manage personal daily tasks to achieve project success
• Check manufacturing and customer drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Uphold EN9100 standards by adhering to company procedures whilst seeking continuous improvement and implement techniques to improve the role and business.
• Supporting the full lifecycle of our products
Required skills & experience:
* Previous experience in a Design position
* Experience running NPI projects
* FEA experience would be an advantage
Working hours: 8.00 – 16.30 Monday to Thursday and 8.00 – 15.30 on Friday – office based
