About the Role
Hill McGlynn is proud to be working in partnership with one of the UK’s most respected construction firms, currently seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Design Manager to join their team based in Central London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual to take the lead on complex, high-profile projects and work with an industry leader known for delivering exceptional results.
As Senior Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the design process from pre-construction through to delivery, ensuring the design meets client requirements, programme constraints, and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the coordination of design activities across major construction projects
* Manage relationships with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
* Oversee the timely delivery of design information to meet project milestones
* Ensure design compliance with building regulations and quality standards
* Support planning, procurement, and construction teams with design input
* Drive innovation and value engineering throughout the design process
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager in the construction industry
* Strong background working on complex building projects – commercial, residential, or mixed-use
* Advantageous: Experience with cladding and façade packages or projects
* Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations and industry standards
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Relevant construction or architectural qualifications
