Senior Ecologist (Bat or Ornithological Specialist)

Day-to-day of the role:
Conduct ecological assessments and habitat designs for various development and nature recovery projects.
Develop pragmatic approaches to ecological mitigation and compensation.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and engage with stakeholders and clients.
Deliver high-quality ecological deliverables in line with current guidance and good practice.
Ensure quality assurance of ecological deliverables.
Act as the ecology lead on projects, managing tasks and project elements.
Mentor staff and manage line responsibilities.Required Skills & Qualifications:
Passion for ecology and a good working knowledge of the natural environment and wildlife legislation.
Proficiency in UKHab surveys, Preliminary Ecological Assessment, Ecological Impact Assessment, Habitats Regulations Assessment, and Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
Strong skills in either bat or ornithological studies, including protected species survey, mitigation, and licensing.
Experience in managing ecology deliverables/projects from bidding through to completion.
Membership of CIEEM or equivalent, and Chartership (CEnv or CEcol) or the ability to achieve chartership.
Excellent report writing skills and the ability to maintain strong client relationships.
