Location: West Midlands (Hybrid)

We are looking for a Senior Ecologist to join a growing environmental consultancy with projects spanning a wide range of sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that balances development with environmental protection. You will play a key role in delivering ecological surveys, assessments and advice, while also mentoring junior colleagues and helping to shape the future direction of the team. Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate and deliver a variety of ecological surveys and assessments
Produce clear, professional reports and provide sound advice to clients and colleagues
Act as Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) when required, supporting projects on site
Mentor and guide junior staff, helping them develop their skills and confidence
Contribute to project management, tenders and client relationships to support team success
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Several years' experience working in ecological consultancy, with a focus on terrestrial ecology
At least one protected species licence (e.g. bats, great crested newts, dormice)
Solid knowledge of survey methods and reporting standards
Good communication and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative mindset
A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel or stay away from home when required
