Job Description

Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Water Infrastructure

Due to continued growth, our client, a leading engineering contractor within the UK water sector, is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding Asset Management team.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of major water and wastewater projects, taking responsibility for electrical design from initial concept through to detailed design and project delivery. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you'll help develop innovative, sustainable solutions that meet client requirements and current industry standards.

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  * Leading the electrical design on water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

  * Undertaking electrical and EICA site surveys to assess existing assets and identify practical engineering solutions.

  * Producing and reviewing detailed electrical design documentation in line with relevant standards and client specifications.

  * Working closely with project delivery teams to ensure designs are effectively implemented on site.

  * Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineers across the project lifecycle.

  * Mentoring and supporting junior engineers, helping develop technical capability within the team.

  * Collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

About You

You'll ideally have:

  * Degree, HND or HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

  * Strong experience delivering electrical or EICA design within the UK water sector or another regulated process industry.

  * Working knowledge of relevant British and European electrical design standards, including WIMES.

  * Experience working across both design office and construction environments.

  * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  * Chartered Engineer status, or working towards professional accreditation, would be advantageous.

  * Full UK driving licence.
