Rendesco is looking to hire a motivated, energetic, and like-minded Senior Electrical Engineer to support the engineering team on site in a period of significant growth. We would look to provide the successful individual in the role with an apprentice, so candidates should have motivation and experience to support the growth and development of an apprentice in their day to day works.
The ideal candidate for the Senior Electrical Engineer role will have keen attention to detail, a methodical mind set, and the self-structure required to work autonomously, and in a wider team. In anticipation of a significant period of growth, the candidate should be keen to take ownership of tasks and on occasion wear multiple hats.
While some lone working may at times be required most of our work will be carried out with a team of engineers. All candidates must be able to work well as part of a team and encourage others to do so too.
Location: Travel to various sites Nationwide (within reason), expenses paid.
Education & Qualifications:
* Electrical Installation Qualification (such as NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services or similar).
* BS 7671 Certification (18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations).
* CSCS/ECS Card (or equivalent certification required for working on construction sites in the UK).
* Experience working on heat pump systems preferred and performing general electrical maintenance on electrical systems.
* Inspection and Testing Certification (e.g., City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent) is desirable.
* Familiarity with Part P Building Regulations and other UK compliance standards related to electrical installations.
* Knowledge of renewable energy and low-carbon energy systems is advantageous.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics.
As part of our engineering team, your duties will include completion of all scheduled works and supervision of junior members of the team, for roles including:
* Electrical Installations for Heat Pumps: Plan and execute electrical work for heat pump installations, including wiring, control systems, and power supply integration.
* Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform electrical maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on installed heat pump systems and other electrical systems, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient operation.
* Compliance and Safety: Ensure all work adheres to BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and other relevant UK standards, as well as health and safety regulations.
* Testing and Commissioning: Conduct thorough testing of installations and maintenance work to ensure compliance, system efficiency, and client satisfaction within the SimPRO QC system.
* Technical Support: Provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, assisting in installation, troubleshooting, and repair phases.
* Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project managers, and the O&M teams to coordinate projects and maintenance schedules effectively.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance work, and inspections, ensuring all documentation is compliant with UK standards and internal procedures.
* Client Communication: Engage with clients and tenants, responding to maintenance requests, and addressing any electrical concerns related to heat pump or electrical systems.
* Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest in renewable energy and maintenance standards, applying best practices to improve installation, maintenance efficiency, and safety.
* Fault finding and fixing any problems that arise: Diagnosing and resolving any operational issues within the heat pump systems, using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
* QA/QC: Taking ownership to ensure that all inspections and Quality Control check points are completed to industry, Rendesco and customer standards to ensure high quality delivery and performance of our projects, installs and equipment. This will be reported into the Installation Supervisor/ Manager for confirmation, using the Rendesco QA/QC platform.
* Cross Division Working: Support and work with our Home Energy division with a new approach to domestic heat pump installations with energy storage systems. Experience with Battery and Hybrid Inverter systems is essential.
* Surveying: Experience in undertaking and reporting home surveys ahead of mechanical and electrical installation works.

* Generous basic salary (depending on experience and location)
