As a Senior Electrical Panel Design Engineer, you will lead and oversee the end-to-end design and development of complex electrical control panels. Your role will involve senior-level collaboration with clients, mentoring junior engineers, ensuring high-quality standards, and providing technical leadership throughout the design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Leadership: Lead the detailed design of complex LV control panels, providing technical oversight and ensuring alignment with industry standards and client requirements.
2. Mentoring & Team Development: Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and ensuring consistent quality across the design team.
3. Project Oversight: Oversee multiple concurrent design projects, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and effective resource allocation.
4. Control Panel and Low Voltage Design: Utilise your expertise in electrical engineering and control systems to design low voltage designs.
5. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with clients, project managers, and internal teams to understand project requirements, propose design solutions, and provide regular updates on project progress.
6. Workshop Coordination: Manage the build process by collaborating with workshop personnel, ensuring the smooth assembly and integration of electrical components into control panels.
7. Quality Assurance: Lead rigorous testing, validation, and design reviews to guarantee accuracy, functionality, and adherence to high safety standards.
8. Commissioning Support: Provide hands-on support during the commissioning phase, troubleshooting and resolving any electrical issues that may arise.
9. Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in control panel technology and electrical engineering and apply this knowledge to enhance our design processes and offerings.
10. Documentation: Prepare detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and other necessary technical documentation to support the design, build and commissioning process.
Requirements:
* BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* Minimum 5+ years’ proven experience designing and leading electrical control panel projects for industrial applications.
* Ability to lead design teams, mentor junior engineers, and manage complex projects.
* Proven experience in designing electrical control panels for industrial applications.
* Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar).
* Strong knowledge of electrical components, including PLCs, HMIs, motor drives, and sensors.
* Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, UL).
* Solid understanding of electrical principles, circuitry, and control systems
