Senior Engineer (Fitout & Interiors)

Overview:
We are seeking a driven and accomplished Senior Engineer with proven expertise in fitout and interior finishes to take a leading role in the delivery of high-specification life science projects in Tralee. This is a senior, hands-on position offering genuine influence over project direction, technical execution, and quality outcomes.
As Senior Engineer, you will be the central technical authority on-site — setting strategy, guiding your team, and ensuring every stage of construction reflects precision, safety, and excellence. You’ll collaborate closely with project leadership to translate complex design intent into flawless delivery, while mentoring engineers and maintaining the highest professional and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the engineering team, providing direction and technical oversight across all project phases.
Develop and implement strategies for setting out, on-site controls, and quality assurance to ensure precision and compliance.
Review and manage Inspection & Test Plans, ensuring robust quality control across key packages such as concrete, drainage, steelwork, flooring, facades, and cleanrooms.
Analyse tolerances and interfaces between trades, proactively identifying and resolving coordination challenges.
Oversee the Non-Conformance process, ensuring timely close-out and mitigation of cost impacts.
Coordinate temporary works and manage lifting operations in accordance with safety and engineering standards.
Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and technical submissions to support safe, efficient, and compliant delivery.
Manage RFIs and technical queries, ensuring clarity and accountability across project stakeholders.
Lead site and client coordination meetings, maintaining strong communication and fostering positive working relationships.
Ensure all works are executed to the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and quality.Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Certified Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC/TWS).
Appointed Person for Lifting Operations (A61 CPCS) or equivalent.
Scaffold awareness and inspection certification.
Proficiency in planning and programming software.
Safety management certification (SMSTS/SSSTS in the UK or MSIC in Ireland).
Demonstrated success delivering complex fitout and interior projects, ideally within the life sciences or high-tech sectors.About the Role:
