Job Description
Our client, a leading marine engineering consultancy, is currently seeking a Senior Engineer - Mechanical to join their team. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative marine projects and contribute to the company's success.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for engineering design calculations for specific projects
Ensuring compliance with classification society and/or national authority standards as stipulated in project specifications
Managing the quality of project work, ensuring adequate detail and thorough checking prior to release
Liaising with customers, representatives, subcontractors, suppliers, classification societies, and national authorities to ensure relevant information is available and queries are resolved promptly
Managing workload across multiple projects, prioritising tasks and proposing solutions for conflicting time requirements in coordination with the Discipline Lead
Reviewing project work to identify potential areas of technical risk and discussing these with the Technical Project Manager
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in the marine industry
Self-motivation and strong time planning and management skills to meet targets and deadlines
Proven ability to process technical problems and seek out the correct technical solutions using sound engineering judgement
Ability to produce clear and well-presented drawings, plans, and technical reports
Commercial awareness, ensuring works are carried out to the appropriate standard, measured against contracted deliverables and tracked against the agreed budget
Experience in Mechanical Engineering and design
Proficiency in design software and relevant mechanical engineering tools
