Senior Estimator – Main Contractor
Marks Tey | £70,000 – £80,000 + Package | Permanent
Our client, a highly respected regional main contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team in Marks Tey. Known for delivering high-quality projects across commercial, residential, education, and mixed-use sectors, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of tenders on projects up to £20m.
The Role
As Senior Estimator, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate and competitive tender submissions, from initial enquiry through to adjudication. Working closely with directors, clients, and supply chain partners, you’ll play a key part in securing new work and ensuring each tender is commercially sound and deliverable.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for design & build and traditional tenders
* Review drawings, specifications, and client requirements to form pricing strategies
* Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations
* Identify risks and opportunities to maximise project value
* Support tender adjudications and presentations to senior stakeholders
* Mentor junior estimators and contribute to process improvements
About You
* Proven experience as an Estimator or Senior Estimator within a main contracting environment
* Strong technical understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing
* Experience working on tenders up to £20m+ across varied sectors
* Excellent commercial awareness and communication skills
* Proficient with ConQuest, Causeway, or similar estimating software
