Senior Estimator - Kent

About the role of Senior Estimator

Looking for a Senior Estimator to work on a long term commercial build.
The project value is £5,000,000.
Responsible for managing the estimating process from initial enquiry through to final submission.
Working closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
Produce accurate, competitive, and commercially sound tenders. 

Responsibilities of Senior Estimator

Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
Attend site visits, tender interviews, and client meetings.
Work collaboratively with the pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams.
Assess project risks and opportunities during the tender process.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, material costs, and supply chain pricing.
Support and mentor junior estimators where appropriate. 

Requirements of Senior Estimator

Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the construction industry.
Strong commercial awareness and excellent analytical skills.
Experience pricing a range of construction projects.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office.
Full UK driving licence. 

The project is a commercial build and has a long duration.
