Job Description
We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 contractor with a strong footprint across commercial, education, healthcare, and public-sector schemes. Following internal growth and strategic departmental changes, they’re now seeking a high-calibre Senior Estimator to join their Bellshill-based pre-construction team.
This is an opportunity to step into a pivotal estimating role, pricing high-value projects and contributing directly to business-winning success. You’ll join a collaborative, well-resourced commercial function with clear scope for progression.
The Role
You’ll lead the full estimating process — from early engagement to final submission — ensuring competitive, accurate tenders that align with the company’s strategic goals.
Key Duties
*
Prepare and review tenders with precision and commercial insight
*
Develop cost plans and budget analyses
*
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best-value pricing
*
Support procurement planning and material sourcing
*
Lead estimating inputs across multiple concurrent bids
*
Collaborate with senior leaders to shape proposal strategies
*
Mentor junior estimators and support professional development within the team
About You
You’re a commercially sharp Estimator (or Quantity Surveyor with pre-con experience) who can price from first principles and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.
What You’ll Need
*
Strong estimating experience on large-scale UK construction projects
*
Framework and negotiated contract exposure
*
Working knowledge of Conquest and On-Screen Take-Off systems
*
Excellent grasp of construction methodology and design interpretation
*
Sharp communicator with strong negotiation skills
*
Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (preferred)
